Mountaintop Wedding | Mariellen & Jason | Granby Ranch, Colorado

You know how much we love to travel but then again who doesn’t! But when Mariellen emailed me, after being a guest a previous wedding, for her destination wedding I was all in. Not just because of the travel but she was getting married in a place that was near and dear to my heart, the mountains of Colorado. Mariellen and her fiance Jason both lived in the greater Grandy/Winter Park area of Colorado. But it was back home in their hometown of Northbrook, Illinois where they both met at a local bar. With so many couples meeting online and via apps I was surprised to hear they were introduced by friends at the local bar. Through dating, life brought them to the mountains of Colorado where they and their two pups spent most of the time outside. Which is fitting for when Jason proposed at the top of Winter Park Mountain at over 9,000 ft in elevation.

These two got married not far from Winter Park at Granby Ranch for their mountain wedding. Guests were greeted at the base mountain lodge to claim their lift ticket before riding the chair lift up to the top. At the top Mariellen and her bridesmaids finished getting ready in the mountaintop yurt..yes a yurt. They walked the long path through the woods to their cliff-side ceremony, complete with sweeping views of the Rockies. After the ceremony that was said by their close friend, guest rode the chair lift back down and join the bride and groom on the deck of the lodge for light bites and drinks outside. The night continued with dinner and dancing inside the ballroom. Guest could enjoy the chairlift themed photo booth or the bonfire outside. It was definitely a relaxing evening with family and friends and a mountaintop destination wedding to remember.
