St Pete's Beach Surprise Proposal and Engagement Session
Haley and Michael’s engagement was surely a surprise for Haley, but the perfect opportunity for Michael to do something extra special. One evening, they were on their way for a dinner just like any other date night. Michael suggested taking a little stroll on St.Pete’s Beach before their dinner reservation. While strolling alongside the ocean, they watched the sky paint the perfect sunset just like they did on their first date. Sat in the distance, Haley didn’t notice the photographer disguised as a sightseer. As the couple’s feet hit the sand, step by step, Haley became worried about missing their reservation. Although Michael kept reassuring her, he knew that he couldn’t keep the secret much longer. Michael finally got down on one knee to propose. Little did Haley know that Rachel Burkhart, the disguised sightseer, was capturing every moment of their proposal.
Surprise proposals might take a little extra planning than usual but it allows the photographer to capture an authentic moment between you and your significant other. I loved how Michael went the extra mile to arrange a photographer to capture their proposal, but also allotted extra time to take some sunset photos. In fact he had made the dinner reservation for a whole hour later and still got to eat after their mini photography session. I encourage you to reach out to the photographer you’re interested in working with to see if this is something they can do. While many won’t advertise it I know they would love to capture your engagement store from the beginning. Just ask how something like this would work. I’m super excited to see Haley and Michael tie the knot in Cincinnati, Michael’s hometown, in May of 2020.
