The Shop is HERE!…and everything you need to know about it
IT’S HERE!!
The shop has launched! It has been a labor of love and not without some steep learning curves, can I just mention sales tax! Uggg. But we can all learn new things and so I have. I want to share with you first the great news that is that the shop, after 2 years for thinking, hemming, and debating, is finally here for you. As of noon today it is live and ready for you to enjoy! I also want to share a bit about how it came to be and everything you need to know about it.
THE STORY
A few years ago I started integrating sketches and illustrations into my creative process. I a few clients and a lot of friendors asked I had thought about selling them. I really never crossed my mind. Last year as a gift to clients I illustrated some part of their wedding as a gift. For some, it was their cake, arch, chuppah, or centerpieces. Many of them loved it. I even gifted a few to vendors who have them up in their offices. For fun almost 14 months ago I asked a friend if she would take a few pictures of my work just so I would have it captured. I debated over whether it was the right move for my business and if I really wanted to manage a shop. Dealing with shipping, taxes, labels, and everything didn’t sound that exciting. But the more I chatted with people the more I was encouraged to try it. What is the worst that could happen? After nearly 2 years of thinking and oh so many times this year setting a launch date and chickening out it is finally here. It’s not perfect and I know that. The pictures could be better, and I know we will have to make tweaks along the way. But yesterday I pushed the enable button and since then I have had a pit in my stomach and this one isn’t from my pregnancy.
THE DETAILS
The shop is a culmination of a couple of ideas brought into one. Big thanks to The Artful Union, my web team worked with me the whole way. Once I committed to having a shop that ideas came and I wanted to add a few areas for everyone.
Illustrations - This is where it all started and where you can find both custom and on occasion original illustration and calligraphy pieces. Great for a custom gift or a way to bring back a special memory. The favorite is cakes, but really we can do anything.
Styling Props - I have amassed an incredible collection of antique, vintage, and unique styling props and surfaces that I have enjoyed over the last few years. In reality, the collection has gotten too big for me and I want to share some of the items with you. I have personally used all of these and my hope is that they will kick-start someone else collection. There might be a piece you are missing in your personal collection or that vintage touch for your guest room like us. In the near future, this is also where you will find information about workshops and other learning opportunities.
Favorite's Corner - I do quite a bit of research each week and month with and for clients that I get to see and test so many great products, processed and offerings. So this is where I am going to bring a few of my favorites. I’m hoping to write a blog each month with the current favorites and a little information about them. They will change monthly and include everything from travel items, hosting gifts, registry items, gifts, seasonal decor, or just something cool. Right now there is my favorite set of pajamas (I own 2 different prints), a few gifts, a cute t-shirt, and an adorable bit of holiday decor.
THE DISCOUNts and Other Details
I know the questions about sales and discounts will come up. Our email Insiders received the highest discount we will do this year as part of our launch celebration. If you aren’t on that list we HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. Why? Our discounts will only be sent out to our email subscribers. The next and last discount for 2019 will go out Friday morning for Black Friday. One more thing...I have opted, to eliminate the debate over shipping. If expedited shipping is necessary or urgent for any matter please email us at shop@samanthajoyevents.com and we can let you know what the additional cost would be. We will do out best to send out any ready to go item within 2-3 days and all custom orders are ready in 2-4 weeks will be mailed when they are completed.
