The Knot: Pro Experience
There is something so nerve-racking about going to a networking event. A room full of unknown people can make anyone feel anxious. But, there is also a sense of excitement! Networking events mean the possibility for new partnerships, the chance to grow, and learn something new. So despite the nerves, I’m so thankful for the opportunity to go to Cleveland and participate in The Knot: Pro Experience at the Madison Event Center. This event was a celebration of the partnership between The Knot and Wedding Wire and I came back feeling refreshed, inspired, and ready to create.
I always get a bit anxious at these events, but I use that energy to stay excited and keep an open mind with everyone I may meet. And I have to say, this event was such a blast. We were greeted by a full breakfast spread with a yogurt parfait station, mixed juices, a full coffee cart, and a color-coordinated donut wall. A little pro-tip, that’s how you do donuts! Not just plopped on a table but themed out with the right color and on a beautiful display to make it a conversation piece. The breakfast spread alone was giving me great ideas for my upcoming brides!
I found a few colleagues in the 3rd row, and we sat through the morning sessions. I opted to take full advantage of my time and pre-registered for a branding session with Meldeen. So often as a business owner I get caught up in the day to day operations and don’t take time to work on my business. It was so refreshing to spend some time focused on growing and expanding SJE. For lunch, they split us up in such a fun way. They randomly handed out cards with a table number on it. Now, in theory, this was a great idea and I loved meeting the people at my table….others didn’t follow directions as well and ended up taking a seat with friends they knew. Still, it is a fun idea for mixing up people at a gathering and helping to facilitate new relationships. It could easily be recreated at a small dinner party or birthday party as a way to mix up guests.
There truly was inspiration around every corner at this event. I loved that the theme incorporated so many bright and vivid colors. I find the couples often want to shy away from color because they worry it will come of kitschy or will skew too trendy. The Knot: Pro Experience was just another example of how bright and vivid colors can be incorporated into a design in a fun and classy way. If you and your finance are into color, don’t shy away! With the right team of vendors, your dream of a colorful wedding day can be brought to life.
