ST. Xavier Church and Powell Hall | Maria & Fade | ST. Louis wedding

January in St. Louis typically means cold, grey, and dreary. So when Maria and Fade’s wedding day was a warm 70-degree day, everyone was over the moon. Instead of worrying about snow, guests could stroll from the hotel to the ceremony location to the reception without a jacket. And lucky for us, everything was right down the street. We definitely hit the weather jackpot.

Working with Maria and Fade was extra special to me. We all went to college together at St. Louis University. Being back near our old campus and celebrating with them is something I’ll treasure.

Maria and Fade actually met while attending SLU, so having their ceremony at St. Francis Xavier College Church right in the heart of campus was fitting. It was the place they attended mass together while dating and continues to be a special place for both of them.

For their reception, they chose Powell Hall, a historic St. Louis theater walking distance from the College Church. With marble floors and grand chandeliers, it is a truly beautiful venue. The classic glamour was a perfect fit for Maria and Fade’s style. Maria’s sister also works at Powell Hall, and Maria and Fade often went on dates there and were even in one of their marketing campaigns.

I know people tend to shy away from a winter wedding, but I believe they offer the opportunity to play with different color palettes and design elements. Maria and Fade did a great job with that.

And you know I love the chance to get creative with calligraphy. I was able to add a bit of flair to the mirror welcome sign. I firmly believe it is the small details like that which set an event apart.

I’m so thankful I could be part of Maria and Fade’s wedding day. There is nothing better than sharing big life events with the ones you love!
