Peterloon Estates | Courtney and Chase
Courtney and Chase’s wedding at the stunning Peterloon Estate was a balance of rich, classic details and clean, modern lines. For this design, we embraced the traditional elements of Peterloon that give it so much character. The grand European inspired home complete with 400-year-old oak parquet de Versailles flooring and manicured gardens inspired our more traditional looks. To incorporate a modern edge, we played with a color palette of white, blush, mauve, and soft crimson and cranberry tones. The end result was a fresh take on a classic style.
Courtney and Chase love music and good food, so wanted those elements to be front and center in their design. We started by creating a soundtrack for their day, building in different types of music for different moments. An electric violinist serenaded guests while they parked and during dinner, a pianist provided the ceremony music, and we used a live band for the reception. It was a music lover's dream and just what Chase had wanted.
Their ceremony was in the sunken garden at Peterloon. Reminiscent of an opulent European garden estate, guests were shaded with market umbrellas and the aisle was lined with floral installation boxes. The reception tent was draped with soft rose fabric and anchored by a grand chandelier. For linens, we went with a soft rose metallic print. I love the texture and interest a subtle patterned linen adds to a table. Florals in low compotes filled each table accented by a mix of pillar and tea lights candles. But one of my favorite elements of the day was the beautiful white bar we constructed inside the tent. Behind the bar, we created a boxwood wall accented with the couple’s name in a neon sign.
For food and drink, we drew from Courtney and Chase’s favorites. Courtney’s go to drink is champagne so a champagne wall was on her wish list. Ours was built out of boxwood, similar to the bar decor. Chase is into bourbon so we made sure the bar was stocked with a few of his favorites. We also brought in Buzzed Bull Creamery for some alcohol infused ice cream at the end of the night.
We also wanted to incorporate foods that honored Chase's Arabic background. We worked with Garnish Catering to create a delicious menu with an entree choice that included chicken shawarma and sides of tabbouleh and couscous. For dessert, we included baklava from Sweets Zone Bakery. Food is such a natural way to draw people together, share traditions, and build memories. I love when we build a menu that means something to my clients! A unique and delicious menu is something your guests will remember.
Courtney and Chase’s Peterloon wedding was one of the many impacted by the pandemic. This couple had to endure a postponement and tons of uncertainty. Not only that, but the day before there was a thunderstorm and incredibly high winds! We had to take all of the chandeliers down and work to get them back up in time on Saturday. But the resulting event was well worth the nearly 2 year wait and weather hurdles.
Words from the Bride
“We are so thankful to Samantha and her team for making our day more than we ever dreamed of! I talked to a lot of planners and one thing that stood out about Samantha was her creativity and excitement towards adding unique and personal elements to her events. She asked us about our backgrounds and favorite things and immediately had ideas on how to incorporate them into our day. She also had great vendor recommendations that matched our vision. We had our reception in a tent that needed to be built from the ground up. I had a vision of what I wanted the tent to look like and it exceeded my expectations. I cried when I saw it! Not only did Samantha work with our vendors on everything (electricity, lighting, draping, florals, etc.) but she was onsite at our venue the week of the wedding to ensure setup was going smoothly. It was so nice to not have to worry about this the week of our wedding knowing she had everything under control. She was also super flexible. We added an extra musical element a month before the wedding and she was quick to develop a plan to incorporate them. Samantha also helped us through postponing our wedding as a result of COVID. She was so supportive through the decision making process and once we decided to postpone, had potential dates and vendor availability to us in less than 48 hours. She made the postponement process seamless and quick. She also kept us up to date on all Ohio regulations and pivoted as needed. She had ideas and a plan A, B, C and D for everything! We would highly recommend Samantha and her team and can’t wait to use them again for future events! She was with us every step of the way for almost 2 years of planning and was one of the best investments we made. I feel like I could go on and on about how great she was, and the support and friendship she provided throughout the process.” Courtney
