Barbiecore Birthday Bash
Celebrations are a unique human experience that we can all look forward to - and birthdays rank number one in getting to have a day that’s all about you. Kate came to us dreaming of a perfect event that captured her individuality and her guests’ attention. Describing herself as sparkly, creative, and feminine, we knew we had an opportunity to create an exciting event! Kate wanted a blowout of a 40th birthday: decor, theme, food, venue, color palette - all of it had to represent the maximalist party for which Kate was hoping.
Inspired by Kate’s love of pink, we decided to pull in a vibrant fuschia as the main color of her event. We later realized that this idea was beginning to take off in the wedding industry as well, and it was known as “Barbiecore”. Mixing classic with modern, adding over-the-top glamor, and, of course, incorporating that signature Barbie-pink was exactly what Kate saw for her birthday celebration - so we began the planning!
The birthday bash began with a cocktail hour with a signature elderflower margarita cocktail, which was absolutely amazing and will definitely be making a reappearance in future events! Drinks were served at the whimsically decorated bar nestled in an explosion of pink balloon art pieces. As guests arrived, they were met with a drink and welcomed into the land of pink. The linens on the cocktail high-tops were a classic, hot pink that immediately evoked one’s “fun side” for the evening. Adorning the linens were centerpieces of roses in differing shades of pink. The walls of the cocktail area were backlit with pink light, immediately transporting guests into the world of Barbiecore. A lounge area was created with modern, pink and white couches and chairs and balanced by a retro looking rug with touches of turquoise, pinks, and silvers. Together, the cocktail reception enhanced the ability of guests to socialize, break out of the humdrum of daily life, and get excited about the rest of the evening!
Following cocktail hour was a glamorous dinner reception. Defining the dinner experience were textured pink linens, scalloped white plates, and hundreds of candles. Roses were interspersed throughout the space, filling the room with their romantic, feminine scent. It was a rush of sensation to enter the dining space, and as people took their seats, the anticipation of a delicious dinner filled the room. It was a multi-course affair of taste and texture that culminated in the key to any great birthday party - a divine piece of birthday cake!
