7 Things to Know Before Booking Your Wedding Venue | The Ohio Bride Podcast

Booking your wedding venue is a huge piece of the wedding planning and design process. So much about your wedding day is impacted by your venue choice - size, aesthetic, vendors, and so much more! 1. Budget
   You don’t want to fall in love with a venue you can’t afford. Know your budget upfront and stick to it!

2. Guest List

   Don’t look at venues with a rough estimate, get specific! Spend some time making a list of the people you will invite. You want to ensure you are looking at venues that can accommodate your whole list. 

3. Your Vision 

   What is the style of your wedding? You want a space that will enhance the overall feel and theme. For example, a modern wedding would be a great fit for an art gallery where a wedding with a natural feel would be better suited for a botanical garden. 4. Space Needs
   Where are you getting ready? Are you getting married on-site? Will there be a cocktail hour? Make sure you’re looking at venues that have space for each part of your day. 

5. Your Guests’ Experience 
   How will your guests get to and from your venue? Is it centrally located to hotels? How far will they have to travel? These are all important questions to ask before picking a venue. If your venue is too far from lodging guests are more likely to leave early and it is a good idea to think about providing transportation. 

6. Your Experience 
   This is your wedding, you should enjoy it! Think about the amount of work and time you want to put into the planning. If you want to keep it simple, consider a venue that provides additional services like onsite catering. If you want more control or have a particular design in mind, you need a venue that is more flexible with vendors.
