Bridal Fashion Week: Fall Bridal Trends

What’s Inspiring Us

The celebration of the delicate flowers, celestial lights, and romantic seasides in many of this season’s  bridal designs is swinging our creative inspirations towards nature. Many couples make core relationship memories that are backdropped with a certain element of nature. Whether it’s a particularly romantic evening under a starry sky, a proposal in the lake country of Michigan, or the perfect springtime day spent with their fur babies, incorporating the colors, scents, or textures of nature can bring a beautiful, sensory theme into a wedding day. Choosing a venue or location to complement the bride’s dress or vice versa can create a harmonious quality that spreads through the event.

As the confetti settles and the runways are cleared, the echoes of Bridal Fashion Week still linger in the air, leaving behind a symphony of trends that will shape the bridal landscape for the coming season. From playful bows to daring mini dresses, the runways were a testament to the power of self-expression, urging brides to embrace their individuality and let their sartorial choices reflect their unique personalities.

This season, the bridal world is a canvas for creativity, where tradition meets innovation and classic silhouettes are infused with modern twists. Bows, once relegated to the realm of childhood innocence, have taken center stage, adding a touch of whimsy and romance to gowns of all shapes and sizes. Mini dresses, once considered a rebellious departure from bridal norms, are now celebrated for their flirtatious charm and ability to showcase a bride's confidence.

Trends of the 2023 Season

Unique necklines are another trend we’ve seen a lot of across the new collections. Step back sweetheart neckline, we’re excited to see where these new styles might go. Asymmetry seems to be the name of the game with this interesting bridal feature. With elegantly folded, off-the-shoulder styles to bold, one-sleeve creations, this feature of wedding dresses was thoroughly explored this week!

Mini dresses are also having their moment in the bridal world. Perfect for the non-traditionionalist or brides searching for dance-ready reception dress, the shorter hems bring a definite element of fun with them!

BOWS, BOWS, BOWS

Bows seem to have taken over this New York Bridal Fashion Week. Used in ever varying and unique ways, the bow seems to have captured the hearts of many designers this season, and it’s certainly catching our eye!

ADDING COLOR

Color is another stylistic characteristic that was utilized by many designers. Whites and creams might be classics, but soft pinks, regal metallics, fun florals, pale jewel tones are stealing the scene this year! Seeing how color is being experimented with by so many designers is getting us excited to create our own color palettes for next wedding season!

UNIQUE FLORAL PATTERNS

Another sweeping stylistic choice this season seems to be floral appliqué. Dresses inspired by  blooms of lilies, roses, and hydrangeas have a youthful, fresh feel to them! These dresses will be perfect for brides envisioning a romantic, elegant wedding.

As the trends of Bridal Fashion Week unfold, one message rings clear: the modern bride is not bound by convention. She is audacious, confident, and unafraid to express her individuality through her bridal style. So, dear brides-to-be, let your wedding dress be a reflection of your personal style and your wedding style. Don't get the most popular dress, but one that suits you best!
