Dayton Convention Center’s Modern, Muti-Media 50th Anniversary Event

The Dayton Convention Center (DCC) is undergoing significant, multi-million dollar renovations to revamp and revitalize the building to make it the region’s premiere event space. House of Joy was invited to plan and help shape a creative direction in partnership with the DCC for the DCC’s 50th anniversary celebration this past year. The corporate anniversary event was held in the Convention Center to exhibit the beautiful renovations completed thus far and to demonstrate the event space potential for the over 200 community leaders in legislature and  business in attendance.

One intentional aspect of the event was to smoothly tour the guests through the DCC with the natural flow of the event. Guests entered the event greeted as VIPs and walked a long red carpet into the Convention Center. After making their way to the first floor, guests were able to see all the renovations that have been completed on the bright, expansive lobby and the technologically updated exhibit hall. Catering stations showcased different dishes and bar stations and were set up in key areas to encourage natural perusal of the space.

In addition to the food and beverage stations, we also designed a custom archival wall that visually displayed the DCC’s 50 year history. Photography and art memorabilia walked guests all the way up to the grand reveal of a time capsule.

After gathering for several keynote addresses by local community leaders, all the guests transitioned upstairs to the elegant and modern new meeting rooms. A gourmet dessert bar and coffee bar awaited guests during the transition time. After a champagne toast for the future of the newly renovated Dayton Convention Center, guests were free to mingle and explore for the rest of the event.
