Hotel Covington Wedding | Kaity and DJ | Cincinnati Wedding Planner

Kaity and DJ have known each other since high school but they fell in love in college. They have been together for 8 years and have grown up together in so many ways. They have seen each other through college, first jobs, and all that the transition to adulthood entails. It was such an honor to be part of the next step in their journey together. 

Their wedding at Hotel Covington along the Cinncinati Riverfront is one of my favorite event designs to date. Full of bright colors, it was the perfect combination of classic meets modern. 

As soon as I met Kaity and DJ, I knew they would be a couple that embraces color. They are vibrant and full of life, we needed a design to match! So we played with peaches, pinks, golds, and vibrant greens. It was bright and fresh while still being classic. 

We brought in great textures with white and grey linens and varied the centerpieces for visual interest. Candles throughout helped us to achieve a warm and intimate feeling. The florals from Robin Wood Florist were textured and unusual, another playful element to the design. 

Kaity and DJ’s seating chart was a custom build that I absolutely love. Framed with cooper pipe and wrapped in greenery, it was one of my favorite design elements of the day. Seating charts and escort walls can make such a statement when done well. I say don’t shy away from doing something eye-catching and unique. It is often one of the first things guests will see in a reception space! Make that first impression a good one.  

Part of the reason I love my job is the excitement of coming up with fresh, new designs for each couple I work with. Each one is a challenge in its own way and stretches me creatively in some new direction. I think we were able to come up with the perfect modern meets classic mash-up for Kaity and DJ’s big day at Hotel Covington.
